Story Of A Stick
I read the titles out loud.
“Fifty ways to play with a stick!”
“One hundred global games that involve using a stick.”
“Twenty five creative games with sticks.”
Do we really need websites to tell us how to interact with nature, especially at such a basic level?
Surely there lies in every human a series of basic urges that passes from generation to generation? Even though the first recorded instance of a stick being used in a sport was in an Egyptian relief carving from around 2500 BC that shows two men playing a game similar to hockey, we might assume that sticks have entranced us from the earliest days of human history.
Let children design their own games whenever possible. A game is more meaningful when it comes from the heart.
Not from the internet.
That’s my story.
And I’m sticking to it.
