Building on trust

In a community based on respect, where everyone matters regardless of age or ability, there is no such thing as a “big work” or a “more difficult work.” Indeed, every occupation is of equal value, particularly because it is chosen by the child, and not the adult, in order to satisfy a developmental need or interest. Where autonomy is respected, our trust in the child is also necessary.

All healthy relationships thrive on trust. We ask them to trust us every day, but do we trust the children in our care?
